Serre Chevalier, Hameau du Rocher Blanc
SerreChe Station 01
Although Serre-Chevalier is one of the largest skiing areas in the Alps with 250 km of pistes, it is remarkably not as well known as most of its rivals from the north. Partly as a result of its lower profile, the 13 villages that make up the resort have retained their rustic charm and there is a friendly unpretentious atmosphere throughout the valley. The high proportion of local residents living in the village gives a good indication of the all year round lifestyle available and of the affordable property prices. The slopes cater for all standards and offer great variety, with some very attractive woodland runs, open bowls and lots of off-piste. The nearest airport is Turin, which is 1.5 hours away and Grenoble or Lyon are also within easy reach.
