 | Méribel is located in the heart of the "Three Valleys", the world’s largest skiing area thanks to its 600 km of pistes. The variety of slopes cater for all abilities and, because of the excellent snow record, piste grooming and snow making facilities, the season is long with quality skiing always available. Given the wealth of activities nearby, including golf and tennis, there is plenty to do throughout the whole year. The nearest airport is Lyon, which is just 1.5 hours away. Apart from skiing, one of the outstanding features of Meribel is its architecture. Unlike virtually all the other purpose built resorts in the Alps the buildings are all low rise and in the traditional chalet style, finished in stone and wood.
